Photo Safari Tour

I finally got the chance to go in the photo safari tour! We saw an amazing sunrise over fishing bridge, got really close to a black bear, explored the canyon, looked at wildlife in Hayden Valley, and saw some great overlooks. We rode in one of the old school Yellowstone buses, and Barrett taught us more about our cameras! I'm glad I actually got to do this before I have to leave!

Back in Glacier National Park

It's so nice to be back in Glacier!! We're here just for a couple of days, and I'm loving it. It was my favorite stop on our road trip last summer, and it may be one of my favorite places in the states. Today we woke up nice and early to catch the sunrise at St. Mary's lake. We spent a lot of our day driving up and down the Going to the Sun Road, stopping at different spots and looking for wildlife. After the morning fog cleared up, we hiked to Hidden Lake, which is a great hang out spot for mountain goats! They were so close to the trail, and since it was so heavily trafficked, it seems that they don't have a problem at all with people being close.

The Beartooths

Fun-day Monday was a trip to the Beartooths this week! We did a beautiful hike, swam in an alpine lake, and enjoyed the scenic drive through the mountains with our friends involved with ACMNP around the park

Softball in Yellowstone

Watching my friends play softball is how I've spent a lot of nights here, and I'm sad that it's now come to a close! There have been some really fun games this season, and we always have a great time!

Coffee Dates and Devos

Liz and I share a lot of the same interests, especially our love for coffee. We've been reading through Galations together, and of course coffee has to be involved somehow. So since a good brew is hard to find in Yellowstone, we've both grown to love trashy gas station coffee. :)

A Perfect Sunday

In between our Sunday services, we normally try to do something with our afternoons. After doing Sheridan the day before, I thought it'd be nice to take it easy, so we spent our time down at the beach. It was nice to swim, throw a frisbee, take a nap, lay out, and then get ice cream when we were finished :)

Mt. Sheridan

22 miles is a long way to hike, but with good friends and good times, it's a piece of cake. :). We summited Sheridan in a day and enjoyed our time at the top before storms started moving in closer on us. Even though it's a little nerve racking to watch a lightening storm as you descend a mountain, we got to witness a small forest fire, which was really awesome! Lightening struck a couple miles away from us and we saw the smoke begin to rise. Then the orange flames rose above the trees! The fire was probably subdued by the rain that was quick to follow, and we saw a helicopter on its way towards the fire. It was a great hike, but I was definitely pretty exhausted afterwards.
