A View of the Classroom

It's my second day of teaching and it was great having some of the little ones today!! :) They're so sweet, and it's nice being able to get all their names on the first day! I also had a high school class where I only had two students. I love the size of the classes here, and the view from our room is pretty great too!

Day 1

Well I've finished my first day in Yaounde!! The view from my balcony was a beautiful sight to wake up to, especially since I got here so late last night. Erica, Angena, and I went out to see a documentary about the Buka people of Cameroon. The producer of the film actually sat right in front of us! Afterwards, we ran out for some dinner, and I had some friend plantains! We laughed at the random guy who pulled his chair up to our table and eventually started to eat our food. :)

And So it Begins

Well here we go!! First to Newark, then Brussels, and finally Yaounde!! :)

It's Time for an Art Show

Anna and I are in the process of raising money for our trip to Albania! So we thought an art show would be a great fundraiser as we prepare for this journey :). It was a great night with Will Solomon's music, great coffee, desserts, and amazing friends and family who support us. :)

Crêpe Night

Ryan thought I needed comfort food after my last day teaching at Wilmore Elementary. :). So we made both sweet and savory crêpes! But no surprise with us, we made a mess! When trying to add chocolate to our batter, we dropped the bowl, spilling batter across the kitchen floor. Without hesitating, we scooped up what we could, cleaned our mess, and went on cooking. And yes, they were delicious :)

I Love My Kids at Wilmore :)

I could haven't dreamed of a better student teaching placement other than Wilmore Elementary!

We Have a New Puppy!

An after going through about 300 names, we finally decided on Colt :)
